In 2005 Ford that it was time to give the mustang a complete redesign, something that hadn’t happened in 20 years. The flawless styling of this 2005 mustang makes anyone, young or old, appreciate the vehicle like they have never before. Some of the features that were given to the classic mustangs are gone and we say good riddance. This new styling is definitley an improvement and does the vehicle total justice.

The only thing that could be changed is the rear spoiler that is on the GT and the accessory lights, which stick out from the grille. Fortunately the spoiler is optional, which means that if you don’t want then you don’t get it. But the lights are something that we are going to have to live with. In one way they aren’t bad because they give the vehicle that tough look that it needs, but on the other hand it takes away from the line’s of the vehicle.

The new platform that was placed on this vehicle is a work of art. Because the rigidity is greater it has improved handling and is able to give the vehicle and driver a more confident feel to it. The wheelbase is 6in. longer and the front wheels have been placed farther forward. The steering has been improved so much that you will be able to predict how the vehicle will react if you take a sharp turn. That is to say the steering is sharp and precise, which is just the way we like it.

When it comes to rear-wheel-drive fans are torn between what was done and what should have been done. Some love the fact that a non-independent rear axle was used. However, there are those who think that the engineers should have gone with the independent rear axles because they said that the rear end of the vehicle tends to hoop when cornering on bumpy pavement. Ford engineers chose the design they did because it helps to retain maximum straight line acceleration. So maybe they did what was best after all.
